WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEARCH FOR BIGFOOT?
If so, you are in the right place. Bigfoots/Sasquatchs have been spotted in Douglas County many times over the years. The animal is known to be a night creature but most of the sightings have been in the early morning and daytime. And if you do not feel like hiking, you can stay in your car, scanning the areas listed below.
Number 1: Several years ago a bigfoot was seen crossing the road between Bullock Bridge and the sharp curve at Tyee Road on Hwy 238.
Number 2: From Sutherlin take hwy 138 west until you come to Elkton and hwy 38. Turn right on 38 and travel a few miles to the Elkton tunnel. The animal was seen here crossing the road a few years ago. Look for footprints. Chances are you will not see the animal but it is fun knowing you are where one was spotted.
Number 3: At Weatherly Creek a bigfoot was seen eating apples from a tree a few years in the past. Be careful, log trucks may be on this narrow road. To get to Weatherly Creek, drive through Elkton. It is several miles on the right over a short bridge. (We traveled down this road until we came to a short bridge and a split in the road. The log trucks were racing to deliver their logs. We felt unsafe and turned back. But we enjoyed knowing bigfoot was observed in the area.)
Number 4: Scottsburg Bridge, west end on left, a bigfoot was spotted there on the flat area and another time walking along the road going west.
Number 5: Scottsburg Park is just a couple miles west where a bigfoot one early morning was seen going through trashcans.
