I would rather not give out any names or locations on my sighting. I will give a general direction of southwestern Oregon as the place. This all starts with a camping trip my former colleagues and I made last week. The six men and myself are all involved in community activities along with law enforcement. I myself have retired from the force but all others are active members.
We had decided to camp in a region of southwestern Oregon where we had camped many times with family members and friends. The campground is owned by the Forest Service and is very much isolated from vehicle traffic. On the third night of the outing we were awakened by loud non-human screams coming from a direction of the mountain to our west. The area has never been logged I understand and is prime with old growth firs.
The next morning four of us decided we would investigate the area and find out what might have made the screams. As we were looking for sign we came upon nine tracks or prints of a human shape but much larger than normal. We knew these tracks were not placed there by some hoaxer looking for fun. We had walked this area the day before and these tracks were not there.
It would have been impossible for anyone to get to this place without our knowledge. No roads and nothing but steep cliffs anyway to try to get in there. That by itself convinced us we had come upon bigfoot. At least that one night we heard it. Well, this night it starts up again at 2 am and continued for over an hour with something returning a scream from rather far away. These loud screams actually echoed throughout the mountainside.
We sure weren't going to trying to get a look at whatever it was making this ruckus.
When we broke camp and left we stopped at the ranger station in this district. Not to claim we saw bigfoot you understand but to warn the Forest Service some very large animal was near this campsite and very well might pose a danger to campers. Being a cop doesn't seem to make a differences to the Forest Service about honesty.
Of course they blamed it on known wildlife (owls, and coyotes). When we showed them the photos we had taken of the footprints with a flash drive they then said they had never heard or seen anything like the prints.
I have to tell you they weren't being truthful with us in our opinions . For your info these prints were five toed, 18" by 7" and very deep imprinted, suggesting great weight that exceeds 270 lbs. (the heaviest one of us barely made a outline in the dirt).
Thank you so much for the great experience. ... Linda Newton-Perry
