Have you ever asked yourself this question?

Guest Editor-Blogger: Mike Davis

Scott Carpenter, aka Joe Black, does research in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park,  about 80 miles from where I live in Asheville, NC. He has definitely made a believer out of me in the last couple of years. His website is http://bf-field-journal.blogspot.com/ .

He gets his best videos from a rear- facing camera. He has also been  zapped with infra-sound and actually seen them when is camera was off. He has also had visitations at his home which is quite a distance from his research area.
Thank you Mike for this comment.

Mr. Tyler I wish you all the luck. The USFS is immune from legal action because of the fact Bigfoot has never been proved real. They are fully aware these creatures are out there BUT till science classifies them as a real animal or primate they are nothing but ghost. Mr. Tyler you might have a case with the pledges. They had no right to threaten the men with fine and or jail. I might be wrong on this too. Everything changed when congress passed the Patriot Act in 2001 giving unlimited powers and authority to government employed police .

(See posts below for more information on this subject.)

Ms Perry, the story of the loggers cutting snags at MT Jefferson apparently is true. I live in
Bend and went in to talk with XXXX XXXX the female USFS in this area at Culver. She spoke with me off the record but did tell me the crew had reported the bigfoots when they claimed they did. She was the female ranger that went out to talk with them. She admits she was under great pressure from the supervising district ranger XXX XXXX in Jefferson County at Culver, Oregon.

It was also true that some police from the government did spook the men into signing nondisclosure pledges. If the men were to break the agreement they were subject to fines and jail time. That pledge became void in 2002 and I would like to help the guys with legal action if they would come forward and discuss this outrageous event with me. Boise Cascade has turned me down cold. They won’t even respond to my letters asking about the employment statistics of the men and if they ever cut logs for Boise Cascade after that. XXXX is also refusing to give me any information on the sightings.

I did talk with the widow of  XXXX XXXX who was on that crew at MT. Jefferson. Her husband committed suicide in 2007 after a lengthy illness. I’m sorry I cannot share this information with your readers because of possible legal action I might take for the crew members that are still alive. I have offered my service free to Mrs. XXXX and all other crew members. Thank you for getting this out to the readers and myself. James Tyler, PC

Better believe anon. Several years ago my outfit took a contract with Boise Cascade cutting timber in Jefferson County in Oregon. This was a snag removal operation from the Mt.Jefferson Wilderness area. We had been working only two days when the first encounter with the bigfoot happened. One of the members of our crew saw a massive sized animal walking across a small creek covered with black hair and apparently some sort of huge apelike man.

We had found tracks of something leaving 19 inch tracks all over the area along with many smaller ones from 16 inches to 6 inches. We had notified the USFS and the timber owner of the tracks. The USFS came out and talked with us. The female ranger and a another guy told us not to worry or pay any attention to the tracks or the animal and she said "they knew about it and it will not come close to humans". Yes that was her exact words.

We ask her if there was more of them in this area and she stated "I don't know and really don't care " Well that remark kind of set me back on my heels. She stated that we was there to do a job so do it and no more questions. A fellow worker ask her if she would guarantee the animal would not attack us. This is where it gets criminal in my book. "We have done a extensive study and found the animals are afraid of humans and will not come close to people" she replied.

"What in the hell are they"  I ask? She said there just a leftover from early times. Why don't more people know about them? She said the discussion is over and they drove off in the USFS pickup. Over the next three weeks we were followed and rocks thrown at us on two different occasions.

The male was around nine feet with a massive chest,  shoulders and long arms. The female was at least seven feet tall and very husky built for a female. The two little ones were only around 5 feet and they never got to close to us . If one of the adults thought they were to close they would whistle at them and once the female even scooped up the small female in her arms.

These animals were frightening to look at. In the daytime we would see the big male watching us cut snags from behind a tree. At night they would wonder into our work area and turn over the gas and oil cans. Though we were camped some miles away we still felt we could be in danger. After three weeks went by we were very close to finishing the job. The snags were to be left in place where they fell . No trucks or roads to take them out. Finally we got done and headed back to Redmond.

When we got back to home here the USFS came and ask us to sign pledges not to discuss these animals with anyone. Along with my crew I told them to shove the pledges. Well the next day here they come again only this time they had government type police with them and their id said Department of Agriculture enforcement.

They threatened us with jail, fines and a host of other stuff if we didn't sign the paper. Facing jail was not in my lifestyle so I signed the damn paper and didn't talk about the bigfoot till a lawyer told me they had no authority to harass us. Even so they told us that we would never get another contract without the false and untrue paper we signed. 2002/June/05

Darcy has left a new comment on your post "Thoughts on Bigfoot":

I've thought about it many times. OK, there I am looking at a bigfoot while fishing or camping. I've got a high powered rifle with me. Would I shoot Sasquatch to gain fortune and fame? It would be the discovery of the century. People would finally know they are real.

Now comes the hard part. Do I have reason or authority to simply kill it because I want to be rich and famous? How many of them are left  out in the wilderness? I'm I killing someone's father, mother just because it looks different and it's not human?

Do I have the right to simply take its life in the name of discovery? Under attack,  yes, I have that right, but to simply kill it to help my bank account is wrong morally and against all the rules in which I was raised.

We know nothing about the family structure of Sasquatches and we don't know if they love and hate like humans or believe in some upper power as we do.

To me they are a animal more wise than man just because they have survived in the wilderness and need nothing from humans other than enough land to live and raise their young.

My answer is NO I would never sell my beliefs for money. They have as much right as humans to live in their natural habitat. Some will say humans were put on earth to reign above all other animals. This might be true to some but unjust killing of any of gods creation without need is wrong.

Thank you, Darcy, for your thoughtful comment. I agree with you except for the fact that man is according to the Bible the highest life form on the earth. Bigfoot/sasquatch was given all the qualities he needs, just like all the other animals, to make his living on this earth.

Our reasoning power, our love for God's animals and many more reasons tell us it is wrong to kill something as wonderful and awesome as these creatures for monetary gain.

BUT, I believe one day science may have to hire a professional hunter to harvest, kill, one of these animals to study it, etc. It would be good, if we could just scoop one off the road after it has been hit by a car, by accident, and turn it over to the naysayers, the scientists!

Again thank you for taking the time to write your feelings for the readers of Bigfoot Ballyhoo. ... LNP

Thoughts on Bigfoot

Gorden has left a new comment on your post "Comment:":

Pardon me for giving my thoughts on bigfoot.

These ANIMALS are dangerous and should never be approached trying to communicate with one. They are a wild animal and have the physical build to KILL. I always worry when I see people wanting to interact with one. Bigfoot is not any part human in my book and like all wild animals they can and will attack without any cause that humans feel might be a cause.

I have records from back in the 1800s where the animal killed humans on sight. I have never worked for any government agency but do hold a masters in wildlife biology. Every piece of evidence points to the animal being a nocturnal solitary creature not wanting contact with humans.

These animals can and do exceed 9 feet in height and nearly one thousand pounds for a male adult. Grizzly Bears are frightened when they smell or encounter bigfoot. Humans pose more danger to the bigfoot than any other animal on earth. Humans carry guns thus making them very unpredictable to bigfoot and visa versa.

Thank you for your informative comment. ... LNP

Mark and Lorie, you are so right about the Twin Lakes area. I have only been up there twice, but I feel the same way as you. There has been encounters with Bigfoot there. I know of one Elk Hunter who encountered one there. Plus the Hunter who disappeared there back in 2011 I believe. I would sure like to hear of your encounters mentioned. Linda has my email and phone number.

My brother and I are planning a camping trip to that area in June if you or anyone else is interested in going. We are not "Professional" BF Hunters, just highly interested in them and love to be Outdoors. If you hear of any recent activity-anyone, please let us know, as I only make it out to Oregon once a year myself. Give me a call or an email.

Polly has left a new comment on your post "An Ideal Bigfoot Encounter":

Lady 30 feet is too close. I was at over 100 ft from a female in 71 and it only took her 3 steps to run me off in panic. Those animals can move with unbelievable speed so beware.

Thank you Polly for the advice. ... LNP

Wow, I was just telling someone a couple of days ago that every time Lorie and I have been to Twin Lakes, which is one of her favorite trails to hike because of the beauty that exists there, that for some reason, every time we go there, it's as if I am being watched or stalked even.

I go because she likes it and have never seen sign of any kind of cougar or bigfoot, but my brain goes on high alert for some reason, when I step out of the vehicle and can't wait to get back into it and leave. It's gorgeous but yet a very scary place to hike and have never seen any one else up there, but Linda and Chris chances are great you may get a surprise up there and your first sighting.

That's just weird that someone else feels that way about the place. My first encounter was very scary. I was a very hard non-believer and my brain was telling me this creature does not exist as it was charging us up a hill. The other two encounters were very peaceful and almost playful in a way, them trying to hide that huge body behind a tree.

REMEMBER.... They find you. When you are looking just for them or hunting them, I know they can feel it and make themselves scarce. Think about how beautiful things are and enjoy he beauty of the outdoors. We were hunting mushrooms every time. Good luck in the search and it's just a matter of time and you’ll see one! Mark and Lorie

The above comment was in response to the one below.

I would love to interact with them. Gain their trust and find out about their social structure. Of course this would take a lot of time and effort. Like you, just seeing one would be wonderful. The Umpqua River area is a prime place to have an encounter. Of course you have to get out in the Woods as much as possible to increase your chances. Since you love hiking, you should hike the trail above the Twin Lakes area, it is beautiful and a little scary.

An Ideal Bigfoot Encounter

I haven't seen a bigfoot. My husband has
never seen a bigfoot. I would enjoy very
much seeing one.

I would, however, not enjoy an in-your-face
encounter. What I mean is, I would not want
to step around a sharp curve on a hiking trail
and meet a snorting, slobbering bigfoot.

I'm sure I'd be scared to death.

We enjoy very much the great outdoors. We
live in Oregon and have many hiking areas to
keep us busy.

And while hiking we are always listening and
watching for evidence of bigfoot.

I want an ideal encounter, which would be observing
this stately creature from at least 30 feet away. I
want it to look at me just long enough so that I can
get a good look. Then I want it to step off the road
and blend into the forest.

What would be your ideal encounter/sighting?

Linda Newton-Perry

I'm not much for commenting but I will on the gray sasquatch seen at the Elk Creek Tunnel on OR 38. The sighting was fascinating to me because back in 1954 my dad, uncle, aunt and cousin saw a large apelike creature standing near the west tunnel entrance of the tunnel watching cars go by.

I know it's probably not the same sasquatch but I found it interesting that the tunnel and sasquatch seem to have a connection.

A person that studied primates told our uncle that primates are fascinated with dark caves, tunnels and holes and the sounds that come from a tunnel or cave.

I've never heard that before or since. The descriptions they gave were as follows: the creature was upright standing like a human. It was covered with brown hair. Its face looked like a ape with some human features too. Its height was over 7 feet, weighing 500 pounds or more. It had long arms reaching to the knees.

Note: Dad nor anyone else in the family had ever heard of a bigfoot or sasquatch.

Linda Newton-Perry Speaks Out

You know at the Oregon Caves they seem to be using the bigfoot sighting there (Dr. Johnson's 2000) as a draw to get more visitors.

I must say it is a great place to visit. And I do believe I head the huffing sound of bigfoot while hiking the bigfoot tree trail a couple of years ago.

To Refresh

This is the bridge where the bigfoot was observed.

(This is the account that the post below this one is referring.)
Thanks for the chance to tell my story to someone. On December 14th 2009 while on patrol near Carpenderville in Curry Co. I received a call to proceed to mile post twenty four on the Forest Service Road, Pairsoll Peak near the south fork of the Chetco River.

At 1422 hrs I arrived at the south fork bridge. There I was to investigate a report by cellphone that six loggers in a crew wagon had seen a big animal of unknown species on the bridge looking over the side. After taking their reports I told them they could go on home.

I walked across the bridge on foot and walked along the road looking for any signs. There it was, a blackish hairy animal of immense size standing upright looking straight at me from the river bank. I drew my weapon and shot once in the air to stop its forward movement towards me.

The eight to ten foot apelike thing whirled around and walked off into the treeline near the water. Stunned, I returned to pickup. I called it in and was told to return to the Gold Beach Station. I had no choice but to report seeing a Sasquatch-Bigfoot type animal.

I had to see a goof ball shrink before going back to work.

Comment 1
Anon has this to say:

The story was found to be true. Where the problem was in the spelling of Carpenterville. The typo was Capenderville. Anyway as a current resident of Curry I know Bishop does not believe in bigfoot so he quashed

Comment 2Carl has left a new comment on your post "To Refresh":

I'm very glad someone spoke up on this bigfoot account. I had read the account of the cop and also talked with some mill workers who knew the loggers at the local coffee shop.

Everyone present knew the men in the crew wagon and also knew none of them believed in bigfoot prior to the sighting.

Then Sheriff Bishop made his remark about he has a huge problem with people who see monsters and goblins. He also said he has never heard of a sighting in Curry County. It doesn't mean there hasn't been many, it means he himself hasn't read any reports.

I know that the police are afraid to tell people the whole truth about what they know about the bigfoot. They run their counties from USFS money (federal timber payments) each year and don't want to offend the government. This kind of thinking has and will prevent the true discovery of bigfoot to the world.

The wilderness area is a few miles from the sighting and to have someone say no one has ever seen one is ludicrous. You will find Sheriff Gil Gilberson in Josephine county the same way claiming he has NEVER heard of a bigfoot sighted in his county .Oregon Caves , Galice, and the upper Rogue River area? NO sightings? Really. What I find amazing is that any bigfoot investigator would ever take these sheriffs at their word.

Guest editor-blogger: Paul from SOBS

Linda, I have done a very extensive search and eyewitness interviews with six men from Brookings, Oregon. This was in response to the story of the deputy that saw the sasquatch on the South Fork of the Chetco. The reason this peaked my interest because this is the same area two others reported a bigfoot sighting.

I am aware David Paulides claimed to have talked with the current sheriff of this county. I contacted Mr. Bishop in Curry and was told he had no conversation to his recollection with Paulides or any other person about the sighting. This really had no bearing on my interview with the logging crew from Brookings.

I interviewed them separately and found their sighting very credible. The general description of the bigfoot was very close except for some difference in whether it was black or a dark brown.

I did interview Cory Bellman the Curry County deputy on what he seen and did. It seems when the story broke on your website the forest service got very nervous on what the men reported.

I also discovered Cory was with the Curry County sheriffs department at the time he said he was. And also discovered he left that job one month later from the flack from above. It seems the sheriffs department works hand in hand with the forest service to keep this type of report out of the public eyes.

I contacted David and he admitted he never talked with sheriff Bishop but still claims the sighting never happened. I have found ample evidence that it in fact did.

Thank you for your information.... Linda Newton-Perry

Question for Paul from SOBS

Paul, am I not supposed to post this for all to read? Posts like this help my reputation. It's when I have to withhold things like this that people think I'm a fraud and or make things up, which I do not. I would like to post it. I'll wait for your reply. ... LNP
