A Youtube Link

American Soldiers saw bigfoot-type animal in Vietnam. Did you know this? The following Discovery Channel video will amaze you, if you haven't seen it. It is 17:17 minutes long and by mike44920.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAS BECOME OF LINDA MOULTON HOWE? (She is featured in the above video.)

Newspaper Column

Have you ever poked at a plant or placed your hand on a limb, and it moved? Then you are among those that know camouflage is a powerful tool that many insects and animals possess. And, what is more, camouflage is not rare; it is extensive in the natural world. It only makes good sense that bigfoot was designed to blend in with his environment. This would be another sound reason we do not see the animal as we are hiking and hunting. We simply were not meant to see him.

Perhaps you remember the experiment my husband and I put together a couple of years ago. We were at the time dealing with the problem of why bigfoot was not often seen in the forest. It seems many people believe if bigfoot exists, then, all those hunters and hikers in the forests would be filing reports to the proper authorities, so numerous in fact that there would have to be a special department set up by congress or the president. (Sorry got carried away.) The experiment was simple. Dressed all in black, cap pulled down to shade his face, and tucked under the skirt of an evergreen, Chris was difficult to spot and only fifteen or so feet from me and the camera. When he pushed his cap back to proper placement, unzipped his black jacket, exposing his white shirt, he was easy to spot.

If one researches the bigfoot sighting reports, he will soon discover that the animal is sighted only when he’s stepped onto a road in the glare of headlights, walked between trees backlit by moonlight or rising sun, or the like. There are numerous videos on Youtube claiming that a black shadow in the thick forest is a bigfoot, some claiming a whole family can be picked out. They put great effort into circling the faces or forms of these black shadows, so we can see what they see. Hey, on my kitchen counter in the tile design is the very likeness of a ferocious bigfoot face, and the same goes for the wood whirls on my bedroom door. I’m not making this up. I’ll take photos to prove it.

I spoke to a man last week who said he knew a fellow once who was routinely visited by a family of bigfoot. Could there possibly be truth in this? If it is true, then this will probably be one of the ways “science” will study these animals. Until next week, Linda Newton-Perry

Did a bigfoot help make the above path? Does it lead the animal to a sweet running stream where he dips his hands in and satisfies his  biggggg thirst?  No one knows. One thing is for sure, if the animal exists, it exists in beautiful surroundings.

Newspaper Column

With just the reports of cougar and bear attacks each year, it would seem the forests are not that safe. And, if one took time to think about the subject, a lengthy list of forest dangers could be created in a short time. And, what if one were to write a book about forest dangers? Just think what could be uncovered in researching the subject. Those among us who are careful of personal safety, might just swear-off forest hiking and all the other activities that are enjoyed in its enchanted realms. What a shame that would be.

One danger that readily comes to mind is the threat from fellow humans. Can you really trust that smiling person ambling toward you? Do you nod? Smile? Then you think, “Is he armed? Does he mean me harm?” Yes, it’s only wise to be cautious when a stranger is approaching, miles from nowhere on a narrow forest trail. We know for a fact that predator humans exist. This fact gives us the right to be cautious.

Until bigfoot is proclaimed a real-live animal by the scientific community it would be, it seems, wise to treat the animal as if it does exist. For example, if a bigfoot is known to frequent a certain area shouldn’t that area be avoided? Wouldn’t a careful individual do just that, avoid the area? This is solid reasoning so far, right? Dangerous humans, we are well aware of, but what of bigfoot? Many reports straight-out claim bigfoot to be dangerous. Yet, we forest users have not been officially alerted. Shouldn’t some agency, some person even, feel a responsibility to protect the public?

Where does one find information on bigfoot sightings and sighting locations? Well, there are plenty of bigfoot web sites on the Internet, but not everyone has a computer. And what’s more, most of these Internet sites do not release sighting locations. It is, however, easy to discern from sighting reports that bigfoot does not often venture onto well-traveled roads or popular campgrounds. Of course, there are always exceptions.

Then, there are those of us that simply want to see a bigfoot, and without hesitation, would travel to a sighting location if revealed. Of course, if the news media would take bigfoot seriously and report sightings and show us photos of bigfoot submitted to them, it just might keep the public a little safer. How? At least the public would know there is a possibility that this animal exists. And, perhaps fewer ill-prepared people would be scouring the dangerous forests for this animal.

Great Program

Click link to take you to a Youtube video. It is a radio-type video over an hour and twenty minutes. Tod Standing is being interviewed. The name of the video is  "World Main Show Only- Protecting Bigfoot." We found the program very interesting. It is filled with interesting material.

Bigfoot and Public Saftey

I am presently working in the XXXX’S District of USFS. Last week we had a meeting with some upper officials inside this agency on the potential threat of the animal coined "xxxxx xxxxx" to the visiting public in this forest district. This meeting was to lay out facts on the safety concerns about the unknown danger and risks of this animal.

Over the last two months three people have had a close brush with the same animal. Separate descriptions given to us verify this. I believe we need to come clean and alert the public on the behavior of this individual animal. We listened to XXX XXX’s thoughts that this problem is going to turn even more dangerous as the summer season starts.

I for one agree that we need to post warning signs in the areas of concern. We have great concern that small children might be in extreme danger if the animal approaches them.

The meeting never addressed what exactly we're dealing with as far as a classification of animal. At the end of the meeting the upper officials decided not to alert the public and to try to downplay any danger. Also they want to continue the claim that people are simply seeing a bear and taking it for a bigfoot.

Thank you for your interest in public safety. The vast majority of us believe we are dealing with a new found animal or some form of mountain ape not yet confirmed. We can only hope that the visiting public can get information from an outside source other than USFS.

You may publish this letter without any names of anyone mentioned here for the visiting public safety in our forest.

Thank you for your comment.... Linda Newton-Perry

I'll be away from my computer until Monday. Have a great weekend. ... Linda Newton-Perry

Newspaper Column, "Bigfoot: A Matter of Time"

I’ll be gone for a few days, so I’m writing the column early this week. I usually write it on Saturday. Generally, by Saturday of each week, I’ve collected enough information to write my column. I feel I’m lacking in that collection this week, but I’ll soldier on.

I did get an interesting comment on Ballyhoo from a reader in the area of Alpine, Oregon that I can expound on. The comment was also an invitation to visit the area. We thank you for that invitation and we will, perhaps, take you up on it at a later time. Alpine, Oregon, in case you would like to know, is about half way between Corvallis and Eugene. To the west is BLM old growth timber, so bigfoot has much room to roam.

The comment concerning the Alpine area, in part, made it very clear that these huge animals are not to be trusted. They are, after all, animals, wild animals at that. The writer mentioned he hummed when in the woods. He felt that this possibly soothed the animal. It would certainly alert the animal to hide.

I’ve often laughed very loud while on a hiking trail. My idea was to alert the animal and to wake it from sleep so that I could get a peek at him. So far, cackling crazily has not helped. I’ve never seen a bigfoot, but who knows, perhaps it has kept me from coming face-to-face with one.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I would love to see a bigfoot, but not have a close encounter. I know, I sound picky in my bigfoot encounter list, but they scare me. I think they should scare hikers and forest users.

On Cliff Barackman’s blog (www.northamericanbigfoot.com), he posted an article about an Indiana woman’s ongoing encounter with bigfoot. The woman’s children complained of a big hairy man that looked at them through their bedroom window. She did finally see one of the animals when she went outside, after hearing a noise in the dark. There have been many reports of repeated visits by these animals on the various websites of the Internet.

I read somewhere that people in the Northwest talk freely about bigfoot, where as in other parts of the US, not so much. It seems to me, the more people talk about bigfoot the sooner the laughter will stop at the mere mention of it. I find nothing about bigfoot funny! Until next week, Linda Newton-Perry

Is it possible to accurately tell  how tall these animals are from say 30, 40 or more feet? We even hear 10 feet at times as the height of a bigfoot. What do you think? I'm thinking it is wild guessing. ... Linda Newton-Perry

Bigfoot Sighting

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Bigfoot Sighting":

I saw the smaller version about 6 foot tall when mushroom hunting last year in the shadows of the trees, and like a juvenile it made sounds that I have never heard in all my years in the woods.

I was never really able to get a really good sighting on it, but I do know the later it got, it started a calling sound that something big and you could tell it was big by the sounds it was making, started heading our way.

I have never been scared of anything in the woods, but this thing scared me just with its vocals and sounded like King Kong coming through the woods. I jumped in my vehicle and got out of there with my picking crew being scared out of their wits.

I just want to say that if someone goes looking for this animal, I believe you are in for a shock and maybe a encounter that will not turn out good.

I'm serious, I had a handgun as I always do when I mushroom hunt, and I knew it was not enough fire power to protect my crew or myself, not that I would ever think about using it against a creature that I respect and needs protected.

Please I'm not writing this as a joke and hope everyone heeds this warning. This is a big whatever and I feel it will protect it's kind, and I know the sounds it made coming through the woods that day had 6 people totally freaked out.

Posted as received. Thank you for the great comment. I didn't change anything on your comment. If I had, it may not have been what you meant at all. So, I left it alone. Thanks again. ... Linda Newton-Perry

Bigfoot Sighting

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Youtube Video":

Sighting Date 6/7/2012. Time 3:30am . Place, one mile up Old Tiller Highway.

Statement: I was driving a crew wagon with 8 fellow employees on Old Tiller Highway driving east to job site near Drew. A very tall and heavy hair-covered apelike thing crossed the highway and stopped to look at us going by.

It was some mix of human and ape looking with red glowing eyes. It then left the shoulder and disappeared into the trees.

All but two of us saw it. The other two were sleeping. We talked about calling the cops but decided not to involve ourselves with them.

One in the crew knew of this site from a local paper so I decided to tell it here with anonymity. It was not anything we have ever seen before. It was a BIGFOOT and not a misidentified animal as suggested by our boss upon him hearing about the sighting. I know this sounds incredible but we all believe this thing was 10ft and at least 900 lbs.

Thank you for such a great comment and sighting. ... Linda Newton-Perry

Newspaper Column "Bigfoot: A Matter of Time"

Last week on Bigfoot Ballyhoo (www.bigfootballyhoo.blogspot.com) we asked if anyone had heard news of the limping bigfoot in the Scottsburg, Elkton areas (Oregon).

A reader wrote that the animal had not been seen for quite some time. The consensus is the animal is dead or has moved on. Actually, there were rumors that the animal may have been hit by a vehicle near the Loon Lake turnoff. A body was searched for, but never found. If you’ve heard anything, please do comment on Ballyhoo or write a letter to P.O. Box 334, Sutherlin, Oregon, 97479.

If you follow Bigfoot Ballyhoo, you know that we are launching a series of books with the topic: searching for bigfoot. We’ve invited our readers to share in the adventure and have their work published in one of the books. To begin with, the books will be by season. June, 2012, will be the first and the summer book. The books should be available to order by September.

So, if you would like to take part and possibly be included in the book, registering is a must. Email the Perrys at www.lnewtonperry@hotmail.com. A name must be included. The photos you submit must be no larger than 4x6, great quality and captioned. We look forward to hearing from you.

(You are invited as well, if you are a reader of this newspaper column and do not have Internet access, simply write a letter stating that you’d like to be part of the book. See address above.)

I stated I would not write more about the ESP Team unless I got new information. I did receive a post on Ballyhoo by a person that knows Bill Emery. It seemed believable. So I allowed the post. I did withdraw my request for a meeting with Emery because of the peculiarities and dangers associated with the Internet. (It is difficult to trust anyone since “Anonymous” often is a real bad guy!)

I wish to thank the readers of this newspaper column and Ballyhoo, especially those that post positive comments.

We at Ballyhoo are simply bigfoot enthusiasts and writers. We look forward to the day that bigfoot will be proclaimed by science as a real animal. What fun that will be. Those that use the forest for recreation will know to watch for the animal. Who knows, maybe it will lead to some great photos. And, of course, information should be available on how we are to react when we see one of these amazing beings. What do you think? Until next week, Linda Newton-Perry and Christopher Perry

Newspaper Column, "Bigfoot: A Matter of Time"

Considering the reports of bigfoot sightings, what, if anything, have they in common? What behavior has been mentioned more than once? Why do I ask these questions?

I believe the study of sighting-reports will be an important activity that scientists will engage in to understand these huge, mysterious animals.

It is possible, that once science takes the “discovery” of these animals seriously, they will break out sophisticated tools, known only to scientists, to locate animals they can study. Maybe they will use satellites to track bigfoots. (Hmm, maybe I should spend some time on Google Earth, watching for bigfoot.)

Back to the topic of what do the sighting reports have in common. I can think of a few things: Bigfoots have been known to chase people, but most often we hear of them turning unconcerned and striding back into the forest; Bigfoots have been known to lay branches in paths they use; they throw stones; they rinse plant material and arrange it carefully in a pile; they seem to be more interested in children and women than men. The list goes on. Again, I’m convinced there is merit in studying sighting reports.

This week, June 8th, will be the twenty-second month since Big Clyde’s photo was snapped by the ESP Team’s trail cam. This will be the last time I mention the anniversary, unless I get new information on what is going on with the team.

I tried to set up a meeting with Bill Emery, but a reader of Bigfoot Ballyhoo pretended to be my contact. The pretender turned my request down flat. I withdrew the meeting request. None of us needs the hassle. It has become a matter of trust. No one will argue that the Internet is a helpful tool. However, it can be a frustrating one in that it is difficult to know who to trust.

So, I’ll request that those that know about the ESP Team and would like to share information, please do. I don’t know how much I’ll share, since I don’t have a foolproof way of deciphering truth. I do believe that one day the team will present its photos and findings to the public, or at least tell us where we can find the information.

I’ll close for this week. You can view many bigfoot sightings on the online bigfoot magazine, Bigfoot Ballyhoo. Use the search tool or scroll back through older posts (www.bigfootballyhoo.blogspot.com). ... Linda Newton-Perry

Comment please. Your comments make my work on Ballyhoo worth the time. :-) ... Linda Newton-Perry

Why not bigfoot?

Photo: Photoxpress

These beautiful animals exist. Is it such a "stretch" to believe that bigfoot exists?

Photo taken while on Oregon Coast Hiking Trail

Photo of Linda Newton-Perry

We enjoy hiking. This trail near Florence Oregon took us down to the beach. The trail was damp in places, so, of course, we watched for bigfoot tracks. We found not a one, but observed three snakes, many birds and tracks of deer and other animals. What fun it is to get out and explore. It is even more enjoyable when you are watching for bigfoot.

P.S. What did you think of the video taken in Idaho of the bigfoot (maybe) darting back into the woods? The link to the Youtube video is below. Tell us what you think. ... LNP
Mary, I'm withdrawing my request for a meeting with Emery. Don't bother him with the request. I can't see how we can be sure of ... Well anyway. We will just wait for news of his Big Clyde adventure to be shared with the public. It seems the Internet etc. has made it impossible to be able to count on anything. We would be pleased, Mary, if you would comment from time to time. Thank you, Linda Newton-Perry
