Columbus Day Storm Bones in Possession of the Smithsonian Institute

Guest Editor-Blogger: Kathie

I want to make myself perfectly clear. I work for USFS but do not write this for any USFS official or person other than myself. I write this on my own time and research.

The creature that was found dead in November,1962 was sent to California then Golden, Colorado for further examination. From there the body was sent to the DOI for study. The bones are currently in the possession of the Smithsonian Institute {reference file #USFS/33058-45333-294734-AB} The bones have never been identified as any known animal.

A FOIA request is the only way these bones maybe viewed, if then. All the notes attached lend theory towards a biped,of no known species known today. Notes also show the creature was 7ft 5 in and 675 lbs. at time of death. The creature was female in sex. and thought to be somewhere in the age group of a 40 year old gorilla .(Going by gorilla age standards.)

Thank you very much. Wonderful work.
