Of course high ranking people knew all along about it. This is the reason this has stayed hidden from public eyes for 40+ years. This animal or whatever it is was found by crews working on wind damage roads. This cannot be hidden from the men and their families that found it nor the people who removed it. Then we have several accounts of USFS officials posing next to it in photos. Photos were taken and distributed through the communities around the area of the find. Then BINGO, all the known photos were gathered up and the creature went into classified or secret case notice.

Gov Tom McCall spoke at a press dinner on Dec 2 1962 at 7:00 PM at the Oregon State fairgrounds about the creature that was found. Then all of a sudden they were notified by USFS and DOI that this creature could not be identified and was likely 3 to 4 months pregnant at the time of death by the best estimates so the secrecy began.

Please don't ask me how I know all of this. I cannot say because of certain people that are still alive and well. I will not give my name nor former occupation to anybody for this reason. If you don't want to hear the truth that's fine, but I certainly know the whole truth.

This creature was a female Sasquatch much like the creature in the Patterson film. The only real difference was this creature was 8 ft 2 inches meaning a bit taller than the one in the film of 1968 and somewhat larger in build. It was well known that the Forest Service had made a terrible mistake by letting the two supervisors pose in the photos. Thus they put a very abrupt stop to all information regarding the finding of it.

Do you have suggestions for how we can get people talking about the animal, and how to let the public know that an animal that many think was a bigfoot was found in '62 and does exist. I was thinking about news men and women that might be pro-bigfoot. This is rather curious information. Linda wrote a blog about Bigfoot and a court of law. She certainly hit the nail on the head. She stated that the eyewitness testimony from people would be enough to make Bigfoot real. Curious that Senator Hatfield and Mr. McCall have both made public speeches in which they inferred Bigfoot as real. Conclusion (in my mind); Bigfoot is certainly a real species and not much of a secret. The only ones who think it's a secret is USFS and BLM. Perhaps the joke is on them. I knew I wasn't crazy. Have a fun filled and safe 4th of July.

Linda Newton-Perry:  Thank you for your comment. Just to make it clear, what I said was just as in a court of law an eyewitness can convict one of a crime. And so  an eyewitness of the animal, bigfoot, should be enough to substantiate the animal as real (in so many words, I said this.)

Ah Ha, this could be the answer we are looking for! If USFS knew about bigfoot in 1962 then everything they have said since is a total lie. If the two men were with USFS in the photos then this would be proof  that the government  has hidden this fact  from all of us people for many many years.

At first I didn't think there was anything to this Columbus bigfoot thing. Then I started reading more and more of the witness accounts . I still wasn't convinced until I asked a longtime commissioner from Jackson county about it; and to my surprise he remembered it. He said the feds did a big boob boo with the handling of the case. He had seen those old pictures in different places of Jackson and Josephine counties and said that thing was something he had never seen before.
