"... treat this as any other animal..."

I think the idea here is to treat this as any other animal would be treated. When there is a bear marauding in a campground we don't try to make it a big secret. We warn campers that they may get there food. When there are reports of cougars we tell people to watch their kids. We, the public, deserve to know what's in the forest. Honesty would go along way. You don't have to disclose peoples names to let people know whats out there. Does a ranger have to see a bear before you warn people?

Anonymous wants to know if we bigfoot believers want them to turn the USFS reports over to the public.

Do you want us to turn the reports over to the public. A report from a private citizen? Surly you can't be serious. If we did that we would break any trust we have with the public. Reports are not public information, come on and smell the roses.

We certainly understand your position. However, one reasonable approach might be the release of excerpts of information with the permission of the person that filed the report. We understand some offices have shredded reports; we hope no valuable scientific information was lost in the process. And we realize this practice may vary from offfice to office. What's wrong with letting the local papers know a bigfoot has been sighted, since you have taken the report. Or you could encourage the one that had the sighting to go to the paper. There should be some middle ground here. ...Linda Newton-Perry

I will say again, we know that we have friends in USFS. We have in the past received excellent comments from present and former employees of that Service. We have, however, been dismayed at the news that USFS shreds bigfoot sighting reports. These reports no doubt contain very credible and very inportant information on the animal.

Linda, it's gonna be so awesome, we've been waiting for this for years. I'm glad that almost EVERYONE in the bigfoot communities, are tired of being lied to and treated like dirt when we report these amazing, beautiful animals that we don't fully understand, and most likely never will until somebody finds stuff from 1962. We can do this guys!!!
If you're in Southern Oregon, Northern California areas, we're having a lot of activity in the Southern Oregon, and Jedidiah Redwoods area since January alone. Get out there people, and be careful; we don't want anybody getting hurt or lost out there squatching!

Help Find A Photo of the 1962 Columbus Day Storm Animal
Search for Bigfoot: Library Files
If you live in southwest, Oregon go to your local library and ask for help with the microfiche files. Look, of course, under Columbus Day Storm animal. Check out all the articles. The big news of the storm was the damage not our bigfoot. Watch for the name of the person and college that was at the site taking photos. Do careful research, you may be the first to come up with a photo taken of the animal. ... Linda Newton-Perry
More: Remember the animal was found about a month later, so look in November. You will be looking for newspaper articles.
Check Grants Pass, Medford, Coquille, papers and TV.
