Announcement: Bigfoot Ballyhoo has been under attack, in the past, by a couple of people who wished Ballyhoo and its editors to look as if they were hoaxing information.

One of the biggest examples would be the claim that we made up the ESP Team, Bill Emery, Cole Saxton and the late Hank Parchell. A well-known bigfoot researcher found photos that looked like Emery, Saxton and Parchell. He claimed the three to be the real men and not any part of the ESP Team. (In fact, he claimed there was no ESP Team).

And then while the Emery Team was processing trail cam photos a couple were sent to Ballyhoo. These photos turned out to be well-known bigfoot photos, one from a movie and one of Patty. The technician’s son that was processing the trail cam photos replaced the real photos with fakes. In good faith Emery sent the dallied-with photos to Ballyhoo. When it was found out what happened it was explained.

Another photo of a footprint with a believable history was given Ballyhoo to post. Turned out to be Tim Fasano’s photo from Florida. Again, we’ve given explanations for each occurrence. We were hoaxed.

We in time recognized each hoax and explained what happened

"... trying to prevent a crash if someone hit it."

Guest Editor-Blogger: Anonymous
Regarding: bigfoot sighting

Jan 20, 2010, my daughter and her boyfriend were on their way to Eugene by way of Oregon 138 when they saw this weird looking beast cross the highway near Steamboat. They said the thing was walking on two legs like a human only it was really large and covered with a light brown and reddish coat of fur or hair. It was late in the evening and they had been driving only about 2 hrs from Lapine.

She called the police and told them what had happened . This dispatcher asked for her full name and address. She told the police she wanted to report it as anonymous and they told her she can't do that. Well she would not give them any information and told them to never mind. Well they tracked her down in Lapine from her cell number two days later and tried to pin her down on what they had seen.

She told them she didn't know what it was. The officer was very rude to her and told her she could be charged for making a false report. She told him she was trying to prevent a crash if someone hit it. Finally the officer left and we have not herd anymore from them. My goodness it seems they would want to know if an animal is in the road, you'd think.

____________
Thank you for the sighting. I'm glad to hear you or rather your daughter didn't have your license suspended.

A Comment from Bill Emery, Bigfoot Researcher

Guest Editor-Blogger: Bill Emery

I would like to take some time here and tell the folks out there in bigfoot country how some of us operate as bigfoot researchers. Our rule is never ever judge anybody. Over the years we have investigated sightings that were not bigfoot related. This does not mean the reporter was lying or trying to pull a fast one. They simply saw something they could not identify. We treat all reports with complete respect and would never turn over any name or report to anyone other than the person who reported it .

We do not work with law enforcement. We have found police sometimes have their own agenda on bigfoot reports and really don't believe in the animals anyway.

When a person sees bigfoot they are confused, scared and feeling a huge amount of anxiety. Some researchers will use reports for their own publicity and don't care if we ever get the proof for bigfoot protection because they have made it their livelihood.

They like to use the word "we're professionals". When a researcher starts acting like a FBI agent then people start to believe all of us are the same. Let me assure people there's many good people in this field along with the bad. One needs to research the person before contacting him.

Any affidavit from a bigfoot investigator is nothing more than a bogus attempt to try to trap the person into not reporting the sighting. People need not ever sign any form nor paper for any bigfoot sighting because there is no reason for us to have such a document. It all starts with trust not distrust.

Bigfoot Sighting!

In the last three day's we received a report of a giant animal near the old dump site here on the reservation. We have found that this animal has been in the area for some time. It is described as hair covered, brown and very large in build.

I will say we are in central Oregon and reporting a animal to our reservation police does not carry any baggage with it. This same animal was seen on two other occasions ten miles from the dump site. We take these sigtings every once in a while and treat the people with complete respect.

Thank you for your report. We bigfoot believers love hearing about this animal....Linda Newton-Perry

For Your Information: Regarding DP's Accusations

Readers, regarding Paulides’ Accusations of Cory at Curry County, an investigator traveled to Curry County and got information proving to his satisfaction that the information was slanted and untrue. I’m waiting for an email from the investigator. I will not write more until I get his okay to tell you more. I for one would just like to drop the whole negative ... Linda Newton-Perry

We would like to make a request that people do not e-mail this society about some man that evidently stirred some raw emotions. Yes [we] are NABS. North American Benthological Society. We have no idea whom the person you refer to might be. Several of the e-mail had referenced this blog in it so we would appreciate people doing a bit more study before sending e-mails to us. We have no knowledge of a Paulides at are society. Thank you very much.

Bigfoot Newspaper Column, "A Matter of Time"

Linda Newton-Perry's Newspaper Column for week of March 15, 2010

Good news last week: No longer will licenses be suspended automatically when one files a bigfoot sighting with the police. On the blog, Bigfoot Ballyhoo, we’ve received many comments verifying this change in policy. But, I would exercise caution until the new policy is completely understood and put in place by the police agencies across the state (Oregon). Several readers of the blog thought that this new policy would open the floodgates for hoaxers. But be warned the police have not been left powerless to prosecute those that file a false bigfoot sighting report. It will cost you dearly, in time and money if you waste these officer’s time with a bogus bigfoot report.

Gina Riggs observed a bigfoot and reported it to the police. Her license was suspended and she was required to see a doctor, at her own expense. She has since received a formal apology from the State of Oregon along with a form to fill out for refund of all the expenses accrued. Riggs was very grateful for the help of Bill Emery, who stood beside her at the DMV hearing and testified to the existence of bigfoot.

If you have any interest at all in the controversy that surrounds the animal, bigfoot, I invite you to check out the blog, Bigfoot Ballyhoo and its extension, Bigfoot and the Ring of Truth. It seems something is always going on; someone is always adding to the truthfulness of bigfoot’s existence or attacking the likelihood that it exists. All comments are welcome as long as they are in good taste. Also, you will find on the blog links to several organizations that are interested in bigfoot, its discovery and its protection.

Last week I emailed the Smithsonian to follow up on the bones that were sent there from the Columbus Day Storm of 1962. The file number was a Forest Service one and so did not help them find the bones. It was interesting in that the return email was quick to add that the animal has not been substantiated as a real animal and, more or less, “of course we don’t have such bones.” The Smithsonian is a vast organization, and it will probably take a lengthy and determined effort to actually find these bones.
