This is the park that a bigfoot was seen going through the trash cans. I asked a park's maintenance man if he knew anything about the incident. Hadn't heard a thing, but about a month ago, he said, all the cans were a mess. Something or someone had gone through them.
This is the area where we believe the bigfoot was sighted in Scottsburg. This is the south end of the bridge. The Umpqua is to my right. If you know exactly where the animal was spotted, please let me know.
P.S. Today, July 9, we stopped by Bob's Market in Scottsburg and asked about the bigfoot sightings. He didn't know a thing. But, he wasn't the one that usually manned the store. He laughed when I asked about. I will be glad when people no longer laugh when bigfoot is mentioned.

About 20 feet closer to the pole is where it was seen. Also walking from the pole area to past where you are standing then up into the woods.
I interesting talk with the lady from Wolf Creek Oregon today told of a large upright hairy thing while traveling the old stage road between Wolf Creek and Galice on Saturday morning July 3rd. She was going to pick up her son and daughter from a camp outside Galice,Oregon when she saw what she claims was a large brown hairy thing walk across the road from the creek (Graves) heading to the upper part of the bank and disappeared. She told me the bigfoot like thing was moving fast and never stopped to look her way. She said two small deer were in the middle of the road about fifty feet from where the bigfoot appeared. I have contacted Emery and gave him the woman's number because of her request to talk with someone private about what she seen. She didn't know that any persons around here were looking into these reports. She ask me if I knew someone she could talk to in full confidence and that they would keep her name out of print. and Bill came to mind because of her fear of somebody finding out her identity. I have worked on two cases with him in the past and thought this would be a good one for him.
STRANGE ANIMAL NOT IDENTIFIED
As of yesterday there is still no identification on the strange animal found on Dew Ridge in Southern Oregon on November 8th. The creature is something still unidentified but is said to be some kind of a mutant human gorilla type. It was found deceased by a crew of men who were clearing debris from nearby roads. It was apparently killed by a Douglas Fir tree in the massive windstorm of October 12th . Officials from Unites States Forest Service are not commenting on the find. A unnamed source said the creature was covered in dark hair and was not any known animal to any of the people present at the site. People nearby in Cave Junction claim it is the creature in indian legend known as "SASQUATCH". Indians claim for hundreds of year these creatures roamed the deep forest of America. The name for the creature means "Wildman of the Woods according to Johnny Duncan a Klamath Indian. The animal was removed by Forest Service officials and was sent to a lab in California according to the locals in town. The Forest Service spokesman wound not confirm or deny the animal. Can you tell me where the Independant daily is from please ?
I think this article is from a old Merlin, Oregon newspaper from the 40s till the 60s but can't be for absolutely sure. I lived there in 1954 and remember a paper with that name.
Linda maybe the maintenance man at the park was instructed to not say anything about a bigfoot? Seems if this was known people might not want to stop there. Maybe just an idea.
