Announcement: Bigfoot Ballyhoo has been under attack, in the past, by a couple of people who wished Ballyhoo and its editors to look as if they were hoaxing information.

One of the biggest examples would be the claim that we made up the ESP Team, Bill Emery, Cole Saxton and the late Hank Parchell. A well-known bigfoot researcher found photos that looked like Emery, Saxton and Parchell. He claimed the three to be the real men and not any part of the ESP Team. (In fact, he claimed there was no ESP Team).

And then while the Emery Team was processing trail cam photos a couple were sent to Ballyhoo. These photos turned out to be well-known bigfoot photos, one from a movie and one of Patty. The technician’s son that was processing the trail cam photos replaced the real photos with fakes. In good faith Emery sent the dallied-with photos to Ballyhoo. When it was found out what happened it was explained.

Another photo of a footprint with a believable history was given Ballyhoo to post. Turned out to be Tim Fasano’s photo from Florida. Again, we’ve given explanations for each occurrence. We were hoaxed.

We in time recognized each hoax and explained what happened

This is Joey the charcoal eraser Bigfoot and his cat/dog, Buddy. The photo has been enhanced by photoshop to look more like a fuzzy Bigfoot. These two live on Linda's desk.
P.S. Linda did warn you this blog would have a little silliness from time to time.

Too Many Bigfoot Sites on the Web to Count!

Internet Sites Galore!
(An article from Linda Newton-Perry's Douglas County News column, "A Matter of Time!")

While researching the internet for this week's column, I realized there are a multitude of sites and Blogs dealing with the subject of Bigfoot/Sasquatch. And of course, most of these sites feature long lists of sightings of the creature.

An entertaining secondary feature is the emails from those that have read the sightings and comment on them. It seems many of these comments are from scoffers.

I understand the scoffing, if the scoffer is parroting what he has heard from ill-informed unbelievers. I understand the scoffing, if the scoffer has not done his own research. In my "research" I found that from the very beginning of the Bigfoot/Sasquatch phenomenon, when a sighting was reported scoffing soon followed.

Why? I've never been able to determine why. To me, it seems so unreasonable, because every day we hear of new animals discovered thought extinct.

One of these sites had a thought-provoking Blog response/comment. I'll give the Blog address now while I'm thinking about it (http:blogsquatcher:blogspot.com/2007/10/bigfoot-does-exist-there. html).

Because of copyright laws, I'll paraphrase it here for you. The Blog comment was from a Mike OK. He claimed that in the mid-60's he saw on the CBS news with Walter Cronkite a chained Bigfoot-type animal.

The animal was hairy and at least a head taller than any of the four men that were taking him to a secret place to be tested. It seems CBS news never mentioned the animal again. Mike OK swears he didn't "make this up." He encouraged researchers to search the CBS archives. We can only guess it was a hoax or CBS news didn't need the scoffing that went with airing "such story."

Hello Linda and fellow bloggers,

Well, I've been busy these last few weeks on new reports of Bigfoot. It seems that this time of year they pick up (in the fall and spring) and I have a notion why.

I think the younger ones set out to find their new territory. This would also explain why over 60% of the sightings that I get, this time of year, are of females. I believe that the female goes with the younger of her family to help them get established.

Also, more people seem to be in the woods looking for elk, deer and of course x-mas trees.

I interviewed a lady yesterday that claims she saw a Bigfoot cross the road near Elkton. Coming up to the tunnel she noticed a large creature walk over the guardrail and into the trees. She did report it to the Oregon State Police but to no avail.

[They believed she simply took it for a Bigfoot when what she really saw was a bear.] Well, this is not something new for law enforcement.

She stated that it walked on 2 legs and stepped over the rail which is 4 feet at the bottom and almost 5 feet on top. Another car swerved to miss it, but did not stop. Very credible lady indeed.

There are 2 more [reports] near Walport that Bill Emery is going to look at as it is getting out of my range. I have asked Bill to call me with his finds or write it here on Bigfoot Ballyhoo.

Till next time, DS
